Honestly if I could give zero stars I would.
My elderly father returned part of his meal because it was not prepared how he asked. It wasn’t a big deal, he didn’t yell, cuss or anything. He simply said “you can take this back, I don’t want it”
The waitress took it back, no problem it got resolved. All of a sudden, the cook/ owner (who is the most explosive person I’ve ever encountered) comes storming out of the kitchen into the dining area and starts YELLING. She says “IF YOU DON’T LIKE THE WAY THE FOOD IS PREPARED YOU CAN GO SOMEWHERE ELSE IF YOU’RE GOING TO MAKE A BIG DEAL AND TERRORIZE PEOPLE OVER TOAST.” She then proceeded to slam things down at the bar, and storm back into the kitchen.
I tried to reach out to have a conversation with her about her explosive and dysregulated outburst. She refused to talk to me, and I heard her say very loudly that she “did not want to talk to me.”
The waitresses stated she was swamped with tickets and it would be several hours before she would be available to talk.
I then returned several hours later in that afternoon.
Once again, I heard her yelling in the kitchen refusing to talk to me. Her staff said to return the next day at 1pm as that ends her shift in the kitchen and she would be available for conversation.
I proceeded to return the next day, at 1pm like I was instructed.
Once again, she refused to talk to me. Her staff took my number and stated she would call me this afternoon. I received zero phone calls.
I feel that this whole entire ordeal was handled in the most unprofessional and inappropriate manner that I have ever seen in my life. Having worked in the service industry in the past, I understand it can get overwhelming and frustrating. However, returned meals are a very common occurrence and NEVER should result in that kind of reaction.
Especially unprovoked.
My father is an elderly army veteran who did not raise his voice, use foul language, or even engage disrespectfully with the wait staff.
How the cook/OWNER behaved and responded was completely inappropriate. Subsequently, the fact that she blatantly REFUSES to communicate, take accountability, or make any effort to make amends tells even more about her character, morals, and personality than anything else possibly could.
Also, I will add that even though I didn’t return anything in breakfast, nothing about the quality of that meal would ever encourage me to recommend this restaurant to ANYONE. The bacon was incredibly floppy and barely cooked, my eggs which I ordered over medium, had runny egg whites in them. Frankly, the whole ordeal caused it to be the absolute worst dine in restaurant experience I have ever encountered. -37/10 recommend.
