Today was our second visit here and it is always a joy to see the chalet about 10-15min before you get there, knowing that your feet will get a well-deserved break. The prices for drinks and food are very reasonable, the keeper happily shares info about the weather & mountain conditions (it helps when you speak some French) the views are gorgeous as this is the area where the glaciers are getting so close you can hear them groaning, cracking and rumbling. It is an excellent rest-point for a walk up to Le Jonction, after roughly 750m of climbing through the forest. I would say, when you come with a family with children, don't make this your first hike! There are better 'first hikes' in the area. But if you want to enjoy the spectacle of two glaciers, making serious altitude meters (about 1350m from start in Le Mont to Le Jonction if you can avoid the cable car that takes you up to about 1400m) this is a great hike, very satisfying.

Cadre idyllique lorsqu'on se trouve au pied du Mont Blanc. Une super rando entre les glaciers des Bossons et du Taconnaz, tout en restant les pieds sur terre. Pour cette belle balade, l'importance du dénivelé (1500 m) ne la met pas à porter de tout le monde. Un minimum d'entraînement est nécessaire pour apprécier.
