According to the clients' reviews, Chinese dishes here are quite good and the menu is well-organized. Order nicely cooked spicy beef, chinese pork and chinese rice. Try good pudding. A collection of great milk tea, bubble tea or americano is recommended to visitors.

This restaurant is well known for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. Adequate prices are what you are to pay for your meal. The beautiful decor and quiet atmosphere let clients feel relaxed here. Changan Kitchen has received Google 4.1 according to the guests' opinions.

This place has been on my mind for a while and not for a good reason lol. I wanted to like this place but multiple things threw me off. First off, the 2-3 servers were watching us eat the ENTIRE time lol. It was uncomfortable and comical. After first dish was served, they saw we were eating the biang biang noodles incorrectly by not mixing the sauce in at the bottom so they came to help, explain, and mix. We appreciated it! But after that, they were watching us the entire time lol. We went midday on a Thursday and it wasn’t busy but there were several customers scattered throughout, but we at least always had 1-2 ppl watching us and how we ate. Maybe because we’re not Asian and we were eating it wrong? So uncomfortable lol. I was excited for the biang biang noodles but it wasn’t for me. Noodles came out a lot thicker than what other posts showed. Flavor was a lot more mild than anticipated. Bf ordered what I believe is the spicy chicken sautee? Flavor was amazing! But we could not get over how there were tiny pieces of chicken bone. So you’d be eating perfectly cooked chicken, smooth, and suddenly a small chunk of bone to mess up your rhythm. Then again, and again. It became too difficult to eat and you couldn’t even detect the bones in the dish until you ate it. We left more than half of it. The sesame noodles dish was good but again, was not for me. Great serving sizes though! Just sharing my experience. Wish we loved it. Meal type: Lunch Food: 2 Service: 2

Hi Leslie, it sounds like your visit didn't live up to expectations, and we're sorry to hear that. We strive for a welcoming atmosphere, and it seems we missed the mark with the excessive attention from our staff, which could be uncomfortable. We'll also look into the issues with the biang biang noodles and the chicken dish to improve quality and ensure a better experience. Your feedback is invaluable, and we hope you'll consider giving us another try.

I had lunch with my son prior to his departure for Ontario, where we opted for a quick meal. I selected the lamb noodle soup, while my son chose the stir-fried lamb with cumin sauce. Honestly, I found the lamb noodle soup to be overpriced at $15, given that it came with only four thin slices of lamb. The quality did not meet my expectations, and I was unable to finish the noodles. Considering the lack of service, I was hesitant to leave a tip, despite my son's mention that the staff had provided water. Nonetheless, I did leave a gratuity. Unfortunately, this experience has deterred me from planning a return visit. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5

I'm sorry to hear about your experience with our lamb noodle soup. It's disappointing that the portion and quality didn't meet your expectations, and that the service felt lacking. Your feedback is important, and we'll use it to improve both our menu offerings and service. We hope you'll consider giving us another chance in the future.

Changan Kitchen stands out as one of the best spots for authentic Chinese cuisine in the area. The restaurant offers a chill and welcoming dining environment, with adorable pet figurines hanging on the walls, a textured brick-wall design, and classic-style lighting that adds a warm, traditional touch. The menu features a wide variety of dishes, particularly from Northwest China, as Xi'an is renowned for its flour-based foods like Chinese burgers, Liang Pi (cold noodles), and hand-pulled noodles. They also offer familiar favorites like fried rice, dumplings, and chow mein, ensuring there’s something for everyone. I tried the Chinese Burger with Stewed Pork, and it was exceptional. The crispy-yet-soft bun paired beautifully with the tender, juicy pork filling, which reminded me of carnitas—a must-try dish! Another standout was the Fried Pao Mo Soup with House Special Beef, a unique and flavorful dish combining beef braised in soy sauce and spicy seasonings with the signature bread pieces of Pao Mo. However, the spice level might be a bit intense for those with a lower tolerance. The service was friendly, and the food was prepared quickly, making it a convenient yet satisfying dining experience. With its large menu and inviting atmosphere, Changan Kitchen is an ideal spot for family reunions or big gatherings where you can explore more elaborate and shareable dishes. Definitely worth a visit for a taste of authentic Xi'an cuisine!
