I’ve been going to the Chang’s Chinese Restaurant in Sugar Land for quite some time, and it’s become my go-to spot whenever I’m craving Chinese food. I’ve tried the Galleria location as well, but this review is strictly for Sugar Land—and it definitely has its own vibe. What keeps me coming back are two key things that make this my overall favorite Chinese restaurant and earn them five stars every time: their General Tso’s Chicken is made with **white meat**, and they serve **chicken egg rolls**. That combination is harder to find than you’d think, and they execute both perfectly. The food is consistently excellent. The chicken fried rice deserves special mention—when you order it, be prepared for a *massive* portion. It comes piled high on the plate in a huge, rounded mound, and it’s very good. You absolutely get your money’s worth here. As for the ambiance, it’s much more no-frills than the Galleria location. The dining area is small, with seating lined up and an almost direct view into the kitchen. The staff usually consists of a cook and a female cashier who also acts as the server. She’s efficient, focused, and pretty much all business—no small talk, but the service gets the job done. If you’re looking for fancy, this isn’t it. But if you want great portions, solid flavors, and a reliable neighborhood Chinese spot, Chang’s in Sugar Land delivers every time. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The most underrated Chinese food restaurant in Houston. The rice paper chicken spring rolls with the classic peanut sauce were some of the best I've ever had and I'm a rice paper roll connoisseur. The quality of the chicken was 5 star and vegetables were fresh and perfectly cooked. Great traditional Chinese decor made me feel like I was a thousand miles from Houston. Finally a nice wine selection. The price was reasonable for the outstanding quality. Thank you Chang's for a great evening and meal. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I eat Chang’s food all the time. Today both chicken dishes had items I did not want. I was extremely specific regarding the 3 veggies I wanted. They did get the no garlic correct. I ordered VERY MILD orange beef and it is VERY spicy. I am disappointed. I called to report the chicken issue. I said I would keep it. I didn’t even bother to call about the beef. You would think they would want to keep a long time customer happy. I did NOT feel like a valued customer. My mouth is still burning from the spicy flavor of the beef.
