There was no coffee, no chips (only found out when we tried to order some), and no burger buns (found out after ordering and had to re-order later). The service was polite but exceptionally slow given no one else was there, and the food we did get was pretty average. We got a nice enough spot to eat by the pool and I really hope we just caught the place at a bad time.

Charlie’s in Lydenburg is an absolute gem, we thoroughly recommend it to anyone passing through or making a special trip! Hands down the best coffee in the Lydenburg! What really sets this place apart are the unique activities like pottery painting, plus the adorable selection of gifts and memorabilia, everything feels so creative, heartfelt, and one-of-a-kind. It’s not just a coffee stop; it’s a little artistic escape tucked away at Laske Nakke with vibrant, calming energy and stunning views. Honestly, it’s worth the drive from anywhere (we came from quite far and would do it again in a heartbeat). If you’re in Lydenburg or Mpumalanga heading up to Hoedspruit visa versa don’t miss Charlie’s it’s the perfect spot to relax, enjoy amazing coffee, and pick up something truly special :) A must-visit! A really great spot to relax and enjoy good food. The meals were tasty and well prepared, and the overall atmosphere is calm and chilled — perfect for families or a laid-back outing. One of the highlights is the heated pool, which makes it enjoyable even on cooler days. There’s also a fun and creative touch with the pottery painting option, which is great for kids and adults alike.
