The bouillabaisse was delicious! The broth was seasoned perfectly and the lobster, mussels and shrimp were succulent and fulfilling. The service was exceptional! Recently spent one of the worst evenings of our lives in CULINARY HELL at Chateau West. For the sake of brevity, I won't go into every little problem, but in summary, it was absolutely the worst service ever coupled with very sub-par food with over-par pricing. We waited 45 minutes before we even got our drinks. At one hour and 50 minutes, we hadn't even received our salads. Only a hunt-down of the manager made that happen. And after that there were still no apologies or any concern to make things right. When our entrees were finally served, they were at flat room temperature. In summary - bad service and bad food, but most importantly, no one cared...not the staff and not management. Lastly, I will say that before posting this negative review, I sent an email to the restaurant to give them a chance to respond. Not surprisingly, it was completely ignored. There are other positive reviews here, so maybe it's not always so bad, but realize that if you go to Chateau West you'll be rolling the dice. My party arrived for a reservation made via open table. We walked in and were seated and noticed from the stares of staff and other restaraunt patrons we were not matching the quiet ambiance of the restaraunt as we were celebrating a birthday. We were there no longer than a few minutes and had no food or drink before I kindly said to the waiter that we are clearly causing a disturbance for others and we would like to leave. He agreed and said he understands so we left. Then about 15 mins later I was charged $180 for cancelling our reservation. We showed up so I did not cancel this reservation, the restaurant cancelled my open table reservation and charged me wrongfully. The waiter said nothing about cancelling my reservation and being liable for the fee so I called in and let them know they charged me when we were there and left out of respect and the waiter agreed before we left and the person on the phone was basically like sorry for your luck. This was not a fair business practice and I have given this restaurant optimal time to correct this error and they refuse to do so. I do not recommend this place as they are dishonest and conduct shady business screwing over customers with no remorse. The open table verbiage clearly states that there is a cancellation for no shows but we showed up and left to be respectful. This business cowardly waited until we left to charge me without notice and does not deserve to be in business.
