I'm visiting from out of town and Ken the bartender was the BEST and made me feel right at home. Friday May 29 was the worst experience I've had in a while. There were only 4 patrons at the bar when I arrived and I guarantee you that he walked past 4 times without acknowledging my presence. I walked out for a minute and walked back in, to see if the door opening and closing would draw his attention...I didn't. He walked back and forth 3 more times, still not acknowledging my presence. Finally, a female server/bartender from the floor came up and took my drink order. She said she needed to "hold" my card for the tab. I was never asked that on my previous visits and while sitting there for over 20 minutes, I saw the male bartender only taking credit cards AFTER the other patrons were preparing to leave. I didn't I enjoyed myself the first 2 times only because of Ken. I definitely will return, but will only stay if Ken is working... Price per person: $1–10 Service: 1

Vincent, thanks for the honest feedback. Our apologies for the delayed response as some members of our team have been out on vacation. We're not sure who Ken was, but we're glad someone made you feel at home. Unfortunately, it sounds like we missed the mark on your most recent visit, and for that we're sorry. We appreciate the feedback and hope to see you again.

Had a good time sitting in the outdoor seating. Food was good and the service better. Definitely a spot to stop at if you are downtown and waiting a place to relax and enjoy a burger and a brew .

A burger, a brew, and a spot to relax downtown—that's exactly what we're aiming for. We're especially glad to hear the service stood out. Thanks for stopping by, and we hope to see you on the patio again soon!

Better late than never! This past summer Checker Bar Detroit helped me host a road show! It was our last stop throughout East Michigan from our Samsung Roadshow. The lunch they surveyed was delicious! The wait staff was super friendly and let us add onto the order as we had more people show up than expected, they were super flexible with every request I had. I will definitely be using them again for future events :). Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
