We visited Cheever's Cafe after doctor's appointments in OKC. Cool little cafe! My husband had the Jalapeno Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes. I had the Prime Rib Sandwich with Fries. We also had the Blue Cheese Potato Chips as an appetizer. My husband isn't a lover of blue cheese, but he really did love these chips. They were topped off with lots of bacon and scallions. Simply amazing!!! The service was very good. I also ordered the Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Icing. I've brought it home with me and can't wait to try it!!! I have to say that I personally make one of the very best carrot cakes EVER so I'll update this post once I've tried the carrot cake from Cheever's. We had a large group celebrating a birthday and made reservations directly with Cheevers. When we arrived they told us our reservation had been cancelled through Open Table. Our group was too large to book through Open Table so that was not true. They offered to seat us if we waited 2 hours and 15 minutes. Hostess was not apologetic and stuck with the story that reservation had been cancelled through Open Table. It took quite awhile to find another restaurant that could seat our large group. I hope any large group that reads this will avoid Cheevers. I am very unhappy about how we were treated and certainly will make it known to others.
