Great food and not just for chili heads. It is decidedly not cheap however all the dishes I've had here are excellent. Mapo tofu, sauerkraut/tofu/cabbage fish, stir fried assorted vegetables, twice cooked pork, braised beef were all delicious. I ordered the boiled sliced fish in hot sauce, spring onion chicken in pepper sauce and a veggie delight. There's a certain spice/pepper used in some Schezuan cooking that numbs the tongue and is very strong. That was in virtually everything. I poured out the green pepper sauce and tried to salvage the fish chunks swimming in a sea of oil. Not kidding about the oil - at least two inches deep in the container. The veggies - and boiled chicken, packaged separately from the pper sauce - were all I could salvage. Oh, and the steamed rice was edible.

Ordering food is so expensive and so many restaurants are trying to survive. But you need to deserve to survive and justify my hard earned money. Frustrated, because this was supposed to be a treat.

Shall never order again.

The first time visiting Chengdu Taste Seattle. I visited the LA store in the past, which was fantastic. This place had much better decorations and dining experience. We ordered five dishes. Part of the dishes tasted great, including duck's blood, beef and tripe in spicy soup, mini mutton skewers However, the beef peppers with green peppers wasn't good. The taste was monotonous. Overall, the taste was slightly worse and had smaller portions compared to the LA store. The service was just okay. The waitress wasn't very attentive. Probably because of covid.
