Best waffles we had during our time in Belgium. Soooo good.
This was the third time we've tried Chez Albert in recent years and we remain very happy with the waffles being served the main branch on Breidelstraat in between Markt and Burg. Opening hours are 10am to 6.30pm daily. Prices at Chez Albert are higher but you'll quickly notice a difference in quality. Their waffles are compact with perfect texture. The batter is soft-chewy with a fair amount of sweetness on its own. You can choose from a variety of toppings. I like the chocolate sauce and strawberry (€5.8), which makes for a rather indulgent and delicious waffle. In the end, this is an easy recommendation for visitors to Bruges. We shared a single waffle, finding it plenty for two people. This is worth considering if you also intend to try other foods like chocolates, speculaas or perhaps some frites in between your normal meals. Note: Queues can be very long at Chez Albert during midday when you find Breidelstraat packed with tourists. We found this several times during this particular trip to Bruges. However, when we passed by late morning, we were able to walk straight up to the order counter and buy our waffle with no wait. Note: It seems Chez Albert has begun to expand and now has a shop on Steenstraat in Bruges as well. According to their website they can also now be found in both the Antwerp and Oostende rail stations. You wish to try one of these branches as well during your travels around Flanders.
Best waffles in belgium. They were nice and warm. This place can get a little busy but they are quick and efficient. If you are in belgium don't forget to grab a waffle. You won't regret it. My bf had the hot chocolate and raved about it . The hot chocolate is definitely different in that they put a chocolate stick and you wait for it to melt. Yummy!
