I first tried Chickadee 7 years ago and remember thinking it was just okay… but my most recent experience here was fantastic. The location is phenomenal, right on drydock and away from the noise and mess of Northern Ave. It’s truly rare to find a restaurant in Boston this spacious and with parking. The Smoked Trout Dip was a real standout. The salt & vinegar rye chips… I would buy a bag ASAP. The dip itself was so flavorful and I loved the actual fish at the bottom of the dish. The Black Bass (not pictured), fried chicken, and sticky toffee pudding were all delicious and easy recommends. Some minor complaints, the kunafa on the cheesecake was very stale that we couldn’t break it and the campanelle needed some salt. I’m looking forward to coming back and trying other things.
