Who I presume to be the owners were extremely hospitable and worked extra hard to ensure we had nothing less than an exceptional experience at their restaurant. They have an English Menu available. (Descriptions and prices may not be up to date though.) The food was delicious. Make sure you order the Grilled Mackeral Zushi. For dessert we ordered the "Miss Shimanto", it is sweet potato with Ice Cream, it was phenomenal. You can't go wrong with anything on this menu. The waiters were extremely kind and patient with us. One of the owners took the time to get to know us and even busted a translator app out to speak with us. One of the Chef's even got in on the conversation. Chika in Shimanto is hands down the best experience we had as a foreigner in Japan. 10/10, incredibly kind staff and a super fun experience.
