Missed the connecting JR train at Hashimoto to Wakayama. Wanted to get some lunch while waiting. Most shops are closed on Sunday but I found this tiny local gem listed as open on google map. An old couple run the shop. Hardly understand English but offerings were standard like various rice and noodle with food models on display with price at entrance. Service was friendly n efficient. The cold soba set with tempura was delicious. This turned out to be a wonderful choice to fill up the tummy while waiting for train. Shop is dimly lit but felt homely. This shop is just a short 3 min walk from the JR station.

Great tiny spot for home-made udon. The restaurant is held by an elderly couple, very nice and welcoming. Cash only and very cheap. Would definitely come back on my next trip to Koyasan as a stop. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
