I hate being the first to write a bad review but here I am. I received the menu for this new place and me and my boyfriend being huge Chinese food take-out fans, we had to give it a try to keep our options open. So we gave them a try. Needless to say, we regretted it almost immediately. First off, I had to call BOTH restaurant numbers 5 times before I got an answer. When we finally did, the order taker, although friendly and polite, just wasnt paying attention and I wound up repeating most of my order and address more than once. Asked for a total before hanging up and got silence for about 15 seconds before being told I would be given the total in 25 minutes when the food arrived. Nearly an hour later, I give them another call, the same order taker answers and asks for my address AGAIN and, laughably, even then I had to repeat myself more than once. Im pretty sure it was a reception issue, since several times I hear the order taker talking with others in the background when she should have been listening to my response. Thankfully, food comes only 5 minutes later. At this point I am irritated but eager to finally see if the food was worth was worth it but decided to just give the food back when the delivery boy takes my larger bill, assumes its his tip, and just begins on his merry way towards his car without even offering to give me change first. The sad part was I would have let him keep the change if he didn't just take it and walk off without even reaching for his pockets first. Took my bill, gave then their food, and immediately called Shanghai House for the same exact order. Should have ordered there in the first place. Orders are never wrong, delivery drivers are always on time and prepared. I plan to try Ocean Gardens again but I will give them some time before I attempt. Maybe dine-in will be a more enjoyable experience.

Do you want hand crafted wonton? Do you great hot and sour soup? Do you want attentive service and clean welcoming ambiance? Then try the new and expanded China May in Somers Point. Still do take out , but now have expanded sitting and menu items. Worth a try, you will enjoy the experience.
