The Chipped Bean is a fantastic café and a real gem in Moate. The coffee is excellent, the food is always fresh and tasty, and there’s a lovely relaxed atmosphere every time you walk in. The staff are friendly, welcoming and genuinely seem to care about giving customers a great experience. It’s the kind of place that’s perfect for a quick coffee, a bite to eat, or catching up with someone. A brilliant local café and well worth a visit. Highly recommended. This cafe is exactly what is needed at the mid point of a journey from Dublin to Galway. The food is humble but made to a high standard. Whether it’s a quality breakfast, a filling sandwich or a warm drink Chipped Bean Café delivers. We had a Club Sandwich, BLT, large Americano and Strawberry Iced tea. All were the best we have had in Ireland. Would always recommend a stop here. The service is great and it exceeded every expectation we had for a road-side stop.
