We tried this famous Taiwanese bento chain at their Tingzhou branch near Gongguan, and it definitely lived up to the hype. With so many locations across Taiwan, it’s clearly a local favorite. We ordered three main items: fried chicken thigh, Chinese-style fried pork belly, and a fried pork chop bento. Each one had its own highlight. The fried chicken thigh was juicy and tender on the inside, with a crispy golden skin that had just the right amount of seasoning. The pork belly was rich and flavorful, with a nice balance of fat and lean meat. Crispy on the outside while still soft and melt-in-your-mouth inside. As for the pork chop, it was well-marinated, slightly sweet and savory, and fried to a satisfying crunch without being too oily. The bento overall was very satisfying. The rice was fluffy, and the side vegetables were well-seasoned and complemented the meat perfectly. Everything came together nicely, and honestly, we cleaned it out completely!! Only the wooden box was left by the end Price-wise, it’s very reasonable for Taipei, especially considering the portion and quality. They offer à la carte meat options, regular bentos, and larger sizes if you want extra rice and veggies. There are also soups available which is a nice bonus. The only downside was the ordering experience. The older lady at the cashier seemed a bit impatient and had some attitude, which made the interaction slightly uncomfortable. Not sure if she was just having a bad day, but it did stand out. Other than that, everything else was great. High CP value for sure. I’d definitely come back and try other items next time.
