LOL no wonder it is closed. Rude customer service by the old round looking lady. Such a big surprise.

Once you get past the pungent smell (similar to hot Chinatown garbage in the middle of summer) as you enter this hidden restaurant within a plain looking strip mall, you're in for a treat! I'm not sure if the server cannot speak English or if she's just shy but you won't get much help from her if you asked for details such as "what kind of meat is in the dumpling soup?" I think it's pork but either way, it was tasty and YOLO . My bf and I shared the seafood pancake (which were both crispy and filled with seafood) and the piping hot dumpling soup. Cannot wait to visit again so we can try their other dishes once we muster the strength to walk through those doors. Nothing special about the decor or ambience but you don't go to a Korean restaurant located in the same strip mall as a 7-Eleven and Check Into Cash for fancy.

I have finally found real authentic Jeolla-do Province food in the Orange County area!! Choeun (actually Jo-eun) offers much better quality food than the Korean restaurants in the Cerritos/Artesia/Norwalk area. You will not be disappointed if you order the bossam at Choeun. The service is excellent. They give you shik-hae rice drink for a very refreshing dessert. Choeun is closed on Mondays. The restaurant is located in a tiny shopping plaza near a Don Pollo chicken restaurant and a Subway sandwich restaurant.
