Always good food. Staff and owner are amazing. We've been going since they opened in the early '90. Seafood lovers, meat eaters, and vegetarians can find something on the menu. Even kids! One meal less than expected in 30 years... That's a great record! Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Vegetarian options: Just ask... I was always able to find something to eat that was really good. Parking space: Somewhat difficult to find parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot Parking: Friday nights are busy! Kid-friendliness: My kids grew up coming here from 1 month to now in the early '20s? Wheelchair accessibility: Yes bathrooms are accessible but tight

I recently visited the Chowder House for the first time in quite a while. Our server's name was Ellanor. It took a little while before she came over to take our drink and food order, but once she did, she promptly brought our drinks, bread, and the soup we had ordered. After we finished the bread, she cleared the basket without asking if we would like a refill. My soda was also empty at that point, but she didn't ask if I wanted another drink. Even after my wife requested more bread, she still didn't check whether we needed drink refills. She also never came back to check on us during the meal, so I had to ask for another soda after our entrées had already arrived. We later realized we had been seated next to what appeared to be her family. Throughout our visit, she seemed more focused on sitting and talking with her husband, child, and other family members than attending to her tables. After they left, I also saw her outside the restaurant saying goodbye to them. I understand that it's nice to see family, but as a guest, I felt that our table was overlooked because of it. Better attention to guests and routine check-ins would have made for a much better dining experience.
