Once again, fellow Yelpers saved the day when we were searching for a good restaurant in the area and were led here from the reviews and pics. Christakis Greek Cuisine turned out to be one of our dining highlights on our latest visit to the Irvine area. They offer a wide assortment of entrees and appetizers and we really liked everything we had including... AVGOLEMENO: Chicken egg-lemon soup A TRIO OF SPREADS: Hummus, tzatziki cucumber-yogurt-dill, and a roasted bell pepper with mild habanero and feta SAGANAKI: Pan-fried and flamed cheese served with abundant pita CHICKEN ATHENIAN: Stuffed with spinach, feta, and dill and topped with a creamy mushroom chardonnay sauce LAMB SOUVLAKI: Marinated, skewered, and grilled with onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers MOUSSAKA: A Greek version of lasagna with layers of seasoned ground meat, eggplant, and potatoes and topped with a rich béchamel sauce CHRISTAKIS COMBO - Pastisio (seasoned ground beef with macaroni and bechamél sauce, dolma (stuffed grape leaves), and grilled lamb chop The food and service were excellent. And we really liked the Greek ambience and music... making it a very authentic Greek experience.
