Great Mexican restaurant that serves a variety of Mexican dishes! Birria Tacos were okay, not amazing but not terrible. Great selection of drinks and cocktails too! Different kind of service, not very enthusiastic waiter. The back patio area is definitely nicer and a better atmosphere than inside! Love the margarita flights! Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

We were a group of 15 with no reservation and were very impressed with everything about this restaurant. The food was excellent and since it was Happy Hour pricing, excellent value. Carolina was the only server and she managed our group easily. We will definitely be back! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Recommended dishes: Chula Nachos, Fish Taco, Shrimp Ceviche Toastada

The food at Chula Taberna Mexicana absolutely blew me away, and it’s easily some of the best Mexican I’ve had in Toronto. Every dish was packed with flavour and really well executed, from the seasoning to the textures on the plate. The atmosphere is energetic and lively, which does add to the fun, but it also meant the room was quite loud during my visit. Between the music, conversations, and the overall buzz, it wasn’t the easiest place for relaxed conversation at the table. The only real downside for me was the layout and seating, which felt a bit cramped. The tables are quite close together, so personal space is limited and it can feel a little crowded when the restaurant is busy.[tripadvisor]. Overall, the quality of the food more than made the visit worthwhile, and I’d still recommend Chula for anyone who prioritizes great Mexican food and a high-energy vibe over a quiet, spacious setting.
