Went for a Sunday roast. Restaurant is in a very nice location, central to Colchester. The premise of the restaurant is set over two floors, bar below and restaurant upstairs. I was impressed with the quality of the roast dinner (roast beef). The roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were cooked as you would hope. The cauliflower cheese was excellent. Everything on the plate worked very very well. Sitting upstairs depending on where they seat you can feel slightly claustrophobic, but it's just the nature of the space that you're dealing with I guess. Overall, very, very good. I would definitely reccomend it for a Sunday Roast and I'm sure that the rest of their menu is just as good. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

First visit to Church Street Tavern and it didn’t disappoint. The staff were so attentive, super friendly and so helpful. The food (we enjoyed the three course set menu) was so tasty and presented lovely. The wine selection was vast and came in a glass, carafe and bottle sizes. We will certainly be back as the service and food was spot on.
