What a lovely experience! I grew up in an area where there was an Indian restaurant on every road and as a result end up never going out for Indian cuisine because it was all the same. When a friend suggested Clay's we figured we'd give it a try and what a breath of fresh air it is! The curry is not the "meat in a curry gravy" I remember when growing up. You'll find thing like venison and liver and an explosion of flavours. The menu is marked with allergens (in-store but not online). As gluten free there were so many options for me with no reaction. Enjoyable Friday evening spent at Clay’s. As a party of 5 we shared various starters and main dishes. Each dish carefully and thoughtfully prepared. Great to find authentic Indian food in Reading. Service was attentive and lovely to meet the owner. Shout out to the Lamb biriyani!
