The marinated steak, although cooked medium rare had a thick layer of gristle around it. The service was slow~15 min for a beer refill, 45 min for food to come out and another 30 min after we were finished to get the check. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: $30–40

Visited Cliff's with a party of 3 on Wednesday night at 715pm. The dining are was very full. Each of us decided to get the Wednesday Night Steak Special which consisted of an soup or salad, steak and potatoes, and a brownie. I also ordered the Kickin' Oysters as an appetizer. The oysters came out after about 20 minutes and we're pretty good. The clam chowder was very good. The steak, however, was rough. It took another 30 minutes to arrive. I ordered mine medium rare and unmarinated. Those with me ordered medium rare and marinated. The internal temperature of the steaks was spot on but the quality was... Bad. Very chewy and almost no flavor. The service during the entire meal was bad. We saw our waitress maybe once outside of food being brought. The dining room slowly emptied by around 8 and we were the only party there for the remaining part of our meal. We had wrapped up our steaks, and had been sitting for 15 minutes prior to a different waitress asking what we were waiting for. The brownie and check followed about 20 minutes after that. All in all the whole experience took 2 hours, the majority of that being sitting around waiting with no interaction with the waitress. The brownie and chowder were great, but the remaining experience was too bad to recommend. Cliff's food is delicious this is the first time I ever had a problem and it wasn't with the food I've been going to Cliff's for years and I always was able to get mashed potatoes with my steak and most times would accommodate me buy charging me a little extra and no salad for a little extra mashed potatoes I was having a small get-together in the evening so I purchased three steaks my bill came out to $213 I was charged $15 for extra mashed potatoes when I asked the girl about this she says mashed potatoes don't come with the steak when I got home I googled this and this is what Google says..... Yes Cliff's Rendezvous in Riverhead gives you a choice of potato options (including french fries, baked potatoes, or mashed potatoes) SMH. Food: 5 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 5
