As a 40-year-old legal professional and newly single male, I’ve spent the last few months exploring lifestyle venues across Johannesburg, Cape Town, and Durban. I make it a point at commending the owners who successfully balance the complex needs of this very picky community, and Club Amsterdam 2.0 deserves a thumbs up. I’ve visited this venue four times in the last 6–8 months. From a professional standpoint, their operations are good—there is always room for improvement in any business, but they are clearly dedicated as most owners. I found a recent comment regarding "unvetted people" and "access control" particularly misleading. As a single male entering this scene, I was personally put through the "friendly ringer" by the owners. They asked all the right questions and performed the necessary checks to ensure I am who i say I am as well as fitting the culture, just as many other top club owners do. To suggest that the venue is "uncontrolled" feels elitist. My experience proves their vetting is alive and well; it is simply inclusive of new, respectful members who want to be there. What really stands out is the fun, sexy atmosphere they’ve cultivated. From night one, I felt incredibly welcome. I’ve met some truly awesome, sexy members here who bring great energy to the space. The vibe is exactly what a lifestyle club should be: inclusive, high-energy, and respectful. As someone who understands the overheads of maintaining a private, secure environment, I find complaints about the drinks pricing baffling. To list these as "overpriced" is objectively incorrect compared to standard restaurants, let alone high-end lifestyle clubs nationally. Across most platforms some reviews seem to be born out of altera motives or bruised egos rather than the reality of the venue. The owners and staff of Club Amsterdam have created a sexy, welcoming, safe, professional, and vibrant lifestyle club. I would recommend that anyone interested in the Lifestyle Club scene give Club Amsterdam a visit, you will have a blast Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
