I had heard mixed reviews about this place, so I gave them some time to get things figured out. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like much has changed. Their social media advertising is great, but the food and overall experience didn’t match the hype. We ordered buffalo fries, plain fries, a kids meal, and mac and cheese, which came out to about $40. I don’t mind paying that for good food, but this didn’t feel worth the price. The buffalo fries were decent, and the chicken was cooked well, but nothing stood out. The fries were a bit soggy, and everything else was pretty average. The bigger issue was the restaurant itself. It looks like money was spent on the aesthetic, but basic maintenance is being overlooked. There were damaged ceiling tiles patched with cardboard, water on the floors in multiple areas, and what looked like a leak near the soda fountain. There was only one wet floor sign, and the issue didn’t seem to be actively addressed. They also need those door fans to help keep flies out, especially since they are next to an alley, which had a pile of trash just sitting there in the alley. A group that came in had to ask for a rag to clean their own table, which should already be standard practice. On top of that, the owner walked in, looked around, and didn’t seem to address any of these plain to see issues. That was honestly frustrating to see. There were also smaller things that added up, like a large kitchen appliance sitting in the dining area and sweet tea that wasn’t properly strained, leaving tea leaves in the drink. Overall, it wasn’t terrible, but definitely underwhelming. I want to support local businesses, but places like this need to focus on consistency, cleanliness, and quality control if they want to last. On a positive note, the chipotle ranch was actually really good. I hope they take the time to fix these issues because the potential is there. Great chicken place in the middle of Brawley. The food tastes great, the service is quick and super friendly and the interior is bright and modern. If you’re bored of eating Mexican food it’s a great choice. And they have a whole range of dipping sauces to choose from, though I always have the Buffalo.
