This location is absolutely STUNNING! Located right on the water. Service was fantastic. The empanada appetizer was soo good we did not even get a pic. The steak had great flavor! The mushrooms were delicious and the potatoes with that chipotle crema were fantastic.

This restaurant definitely has the ambience and views for an upscale dinner. We brought my friends here from out of town and it was also our first time. My husband works on the bay and always saw this beautiful restaurant and decided to take us. Issue #1: I called to make a reservation where the lady on the phone was extremely rude and told me there was nothing available until 8:30 PM. I proceeded to make a reservation but asked if we could be a walk-in earlier and she said that there was no guarantees. My husband and I and our friends decided to come around 5:30 PM to be a walk-in. What was funny to me is that we literally got seated as soon as we got served our drinks at the bar when they told us that it was going to be a long wait and I called the day prior to make a reservation and they said the only thing they had available was at 8:30 PM. It was definitely misleading. Why I'd come back: The best part of this entire experience was hands-down the bartender. He was knowledgeable, quick and recommended delicious drinks. We absolutely loved our bartender. We sat down at the bar while waiting for our table. He made the coconut margarita so delicious in fact we ordered the pitcher for the entire table. He knew what he was doing and wasted no time serving 4 of us simultaneously. Issue #2: Our server- She was unknowledgeable, slow, and inexperienced. We were asked from four different people if we transferred our tab over from the bar to the table which we proceeded to tell everyone yes even the bartender was aware of this before we moved to our table. There is a lack of communication between staff and have four different people ask us the same question within five minute time frame was definitely frustrating. Issue #3: Food was COLD. By this time, we already waited over 40 minutes for our food and we were starving. If my husband wasn't so hungry, I definitely would have sent it back. I don't think this meal justified the price. The potatoes were hard and cold and the meat was cold. The mushrooms and the corn were warm and had flavor. We also had to ask for the check after they cleared our table we waited for about 15 minutes for her to come back by again and it took her over 25 minutes to bring it. We were cold outside and wanted to leave. (Which, by the way, other people were offered blankets which I thought was cool concept, but it would've been nice to be offered one). Overall mediocre experience- I would only come back here for the view and the drinks .

I had a business dinner at Coasterra and the view, location and ambience cannot be beaten: just beautiful! Good drinks, friendly staff (although they got busy and may not have had enough staff for size and number of guests). The appetizers were really good (we tried several) although the guacamole could be improved (was a little bland). My main dish was carnitas and I was a little disappointed: where the flavor was good, the meat was tough and dry, so had some room for improvement. Overall good experience.
