Coccolare is a B. However, the rating changes depending on which Coccolare restaurant is being referred to. The buffet is a B, the speciality area is closer to an A, and the teppanyaki counter may also rise depending on the purpose. As a hotel dining space inside the Grand Nikko Awaji, it is not just a small restaurant; it is part of the larger Awaji Yumebutai experience, offering resort air, Tadao Ando architecture, open spaces and the feeling of eating inside a planned landscape. The buffet is useful and pleasant, with local Awaji ingredients and enough variety for travellers. However, a buffet rarely becomes an A-rated restaurant based on taste alone, as the final meal depends too much on the choices of the guests. The specialité and teppanyaki areas give the meal a clearer structure. The price is the difficult point: as a standalone lunch, it feels high, but as part of a hotel and Yumebutai day, it makes more sense. It is a resort dining room where the setting contributes significantly to the experience, best enjoyed with intention rather than just appetite.

We're not staying at hotel, but went there for breakfast, the night before I tried to make reservation, but was told booking is not needed, I felt a bit strange, seems they are not welcoming guests from outside. On the day we went to the hotel, the staff at entrance was so cold, after we said we are not staying at hotel but came here for breakfast. No welcoming, no thank you words, I have never experienced service like this. After we paid we were led to the table, without any explanation of the food selections. The buffet presentation was not good. Hot food was not hot, not even warm, service staff all seems not happy. It's certainly not worth for 4,000 yen per person. I wouldn't recommend it.
