Cocholate Restaurante in Quito is a women-owned establishment located on Sucre street, known for its casual and cozy atmosphere. It offers a variety of culinary experiences throughout the day, with options ranging from breakfast to dinner. The place draws a mixed crowd, appealing to solo diners, families, groups, and even tourists, establishing itself as LGBTQ+ friendly and a safe space for transgender individuals. The dining environment is complemented by available table service and comfortable seating arrangements.

The menu provides offerings such as alcohol and small plates, highly praised for its authentic Ecuadorian dishes, featuring highlights like great desserts and popular lunch choices. While known for its spectacular breakfasts and attentive individual server efforts, some visitors have noted variances in service quality during weekends. The restaurant welcomes patrons with pets and offers conveniences like credit card payments and high chairs for children, but detailed amenities like Wi-Fi or dedicated parking are less clearly documented. Despite a presence on Google, comprehensive information about the business isn't widely available, and the last known reviews date back six months, leaving potential diners to anticipate changes or improvements that could have occurred since then.

Operating hours extend from early morning until the evening, with slightly extended hours on Thursdays to Saturdays, indicating that weekend visits might require a reservation due to potential demand. This adaptability, visibility of service parameters, and reception from guests provide a snapshot of the dining experience, which seems consistently rewarded with positive mentions, albeit with room for service enhancements on busier days.

Cocholate restaurante name is a play on chocolate, makes it easy to to remember. The location is very good at one edge of the historic Plaza de San Francisco with a nearby metro station. It is on the second floor and the views from the balcony of the plaza below are great. It serves many items on the menu, mostly with Ecuadorian flavors. No salt on the table, but hot sauce. Yummy. Also serve popped kernels on the side gratis. Dishes include rice dishes, bread dishes, fish dishes, soups, desserts, and cocktails. I like the local beer. The service becomes a tad slow when it becomes super busy during lunch hours. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–25 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Limited vegetarian options, but you will NOT go hungry if you are a vegetarian.
$$$$ Price range per person $10-$30
