Went here for lunch, I ordered the fish in coconut sauce. The taste was okay, but the tuna was not descaled. Tuna scales are not edible like some other fish, they are very hard and sharp and made several cuts in my mouth. I tried to eat around them but unfortunately the scales were invisible and throughout the entire sauce; every mouthful was near impossible to eat. I hate complaining, but it was simply inedible, so I spoke to the staff about it and they tried to brush off my remarks saying "it is normal" (it is definitely not). They were very rude about the whole thing, didn't offer any sort of remedy or apology, and still tried to insist I pay for my inedible meal. Of course they then conveniently had no cash of any currency in the restaurant at all to give me my change. Not a fun experience, especially for a place that markets itself as local yet has recently increased their prices and now charges the same amount for a meal as all the fancy resorts around it. Price per person: TZS 30–40k

You pay the same here as in the resorts around, the food was bland and disappointing, and to top it off the owners son tries to sell you stuff during the wait. Save yourself the trouble and go to a nearby resort with great service and equal prices. Or I highly recommend Migomba restaurant or YUSUP in nearby Michumvi Kae for some normal priced local food. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

I really enjoyed visiting Coconut Restaurant in Zanzibar. The interior environment is very nice—clean and with an attractive atmosphere that makes you feel relaxed and enjoy your meal peacefully. The service is top-notch; the staff are polite, patient, and make every effort to ensure you get everything you need on time. The food is delicious and prepared with great cleanliness, which is very important to me personally. The prices are reasonable, but the service and food taste prove it’s worth your money. I especially liked the seafood dishes they served—they were fresh and expertly cooked. Overall, it’s a great place for family, friends, or anyone looking for good food and excellent service in Zanzibar. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
