If you come here, in my experience, by yourself. And sit down, order a drink, have a bit of banter with the (all male staff) you will be asked (by the younger staff members) to join their coconut club. One of them will come over, with two photo albums full of pictures, of topless women. Posing for the camera. If you pose, topless, for the camera, you’ll get a free shot of tequila. When you politely decline, they’ll be embarrassed/ disinterested and you’ll continue being served by the older men working here. Honestly its so tasteless and just not called for. Other than that. The drinks are fine, the food is decent. The view is grate and the music station is top notch. *make sure you have transportation back to the city covered!!* ** unfortunately I didn’t read enough reviews otherwise I would have seen the topless women books comment….**. If I could put 6 stars for the atmosphere I would Coconuts is definitely not the place for gourmet foodies or wine snobs. This is the place to come for fun, authentic Mexican food, and quite possibly the best margaritas we’ve had. The open-air setting, right by the sea, creates the perfect laid-back atmosphere. The waiters are full of energy, genuinely friendly, and many of them have been working here for years, which says a lot about the place. Our last visit was back in 2013, and we were so happy to find that nothing had changed. The same relaxed vibe, the same warm hospitality, and the same breathtaking ocean views. Don’t come expecting luxury décor or Michelin-style cuisine. Come with sandy feet, order a margarita, enjoy delicious Mexican food, laugh, relax, and take in one of the best views on the island. Every time we’re in Cozumel, Coconuts is a must-visit for us. Worth it to explore ! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
