Coffee Tea Library is a uniquely charming spot located on Tanglin Road, near the Redhill metro station in Singapore. Nestled in the historical compound of the old Ministry of Education, this cafe offers an offbeat retreat right in the heart of the city. Though the full menu details are sparse, visitors have highlighted a commendable selection of teas. Coffee lovers should note that while coffee may not have been available initially, there were plans to introduce it.
The cafe features eco-friendly decor with an intriguing seating arrangement, including swings, adding to its relaxed ambiance. It provides various conveniences for patrons, such as available parking and options for digital payments, including Visa. Visitors can choose to dine in or make reservations; however, further operating details such as specific hours are unknown. It's worth noting a lack of recent updates from the owners, as previous visitor reviews are now over two years old, praising the friendly local staff and promising atmosphere despite its newer status back then.

It’s rare to find a spot in Singapore that’s tucked away from the usual concrete landscape and shopping malls, where you can simply enjoy a cup of brewed tea. This little café offers a lovely selection of teas from across Asia and also serves fresh coffee. As a bonus, it’s pet-friendly. Just outside the café, you’ll also find a few caged birds, including a peacock and other species that keep both kids and pets entertained. The owners are a warm and friendly couple, which is why I find some of the earlier criticisms/reviews a little harsh. It was a relatively new café, and naturally there would be things to finetune over time. We had a great experience here, so kudos to the team!

Coffee Tea Library Possibly the best place in Singapore for tea — the selection, preparation, and presentation are all exceptional. I had tea and cakes, both amazing, and the entire experience felt calm and restorative. The café’s quiet, bookish atmosphere makes it perfect for slow afternoons or thoughtful catch-ups. It was very peaceful even on a Sunday, with easy parking nearby — a rarity in Singapore. Coffee Tea Library blends artistry and stillness beautifully, offering specialty teas and coffees brewed with precision in a warm, minimalist setting. A true sanctuary for tea lovers and reflective souls — easily one of the city’s finest spots for a tranquil escape.

This tea cafe is hidden inside the former Salvation Army (which is no longer operating there), which itself is located in a former primary school. It's very Instagrammable and serves and sells a wide variety of premium specialty coffee beans and tea leaves, including Kopi Luwak (Civet Cat Coffee). There's a seating area that has hanging swing seats and tables. No GST or Service Charge. It's next to the Lucky Saigon Vietnamese restaurant which itself has a forest design with a misty dry ice entrance (powered by fog machines), wooden bridge over a pond => great for romantic dinner dates. There's even a cage with fluffy Vietnamese chicken with giant feet, a food delicacy in Vietnam. The former school's toilet condition, to be honest, is not great. It's also used by the customers of the gym/ sport businesses elsewhere in the development. Free open-air carpark. There is a sheltered dropoff point.

Hi Yong Hui and Ronny, Thank you so much for your kind and detailed review! We’re thrilled to hear you enjoyed the atmosphere of our coffee and tea library, and that our wide variety of premium specialty beans and leaves made an impression. It’s also great to know that you appreciated the unique vibe of our neighbor, Lucky Saigon—it's always lovely to hear when our community around us enhances your experience. We’re truly sorry about the condition of the toilet during your visit, and we’re grateful for your honest feedback. We’re constantly looking for ways to improve, and this will be something we take into consideration. We hope to see you again soon for another memorable visit, and we’ll be sure to make it even better next time! - Coffee Tea Library -
