Made a trip to Bardstown today with my husband, and we decided lunch needed to be steak over Mexican food. Colton's Steak House & Grill was the only steakhouse we could find open at 1:30 in the afternoon. My husband was skeptical right away and mentioned how dirty it looked from the outside—and honestly, he wasn’t wrong. The building and signage are in desperate need of a good power washing. I was determined to get my steak, though, so I didn’t let that stop me. When we first walked in, I actually thought, “Wow, this place has a great atmosphere and decor.” But once we were seated and my husband noticed the table leg was propped up with about 10 drink coasters, I started getting concerned. Our waitress had about as much personality and energy as a limp noodle. She took our drink order, and we waited for her return to place our food order. While waiting, I went to use the restroom and quickly noticed the same issue—overall dirt and grime everywhere. On the way back to my table, I paid closer attention and realized the entire restaurant—from the floors to the walls, tables, and windows—had this filmy, sticky layer of dirt. It honestly felt like someone had used the same dirty dish rag to wipe down the entire place. The whole restaurant smelled slightly like a wet mop bucket. Management—clean this place up! With some elbow grease, motivation, and attention to detail, this place could be a real winner. Clean the windows, deep clean the floors, fix the tables, and energize the staff, and you’d have a top-notch restaurant. The food was good, but the cleanliness and overall atmosphere were seriously lacking. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $20–30 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2
