An unpleasant experience. Although we had arranged for a late arrival and received written confirmation from the hotel, we arrived to find a locked door and were forced to wait outside in the cold for quite a while. The hotel itself is outdated and poorly maintained. The staff made no attempt to be friendly.

Good stay overall - room was comfortable and well kept. Breakfast was decent, had a good enough spread to start the day. Only downside is it's a bit far from the city center, so factor in some travel time. Would still recommend for a comfortable stay.

Hotel Meritum is an excellent choice for the budget conscious traveler. The bus stop (#142) is right across the street, so access from the airport or downtown is easy breezy.

There was no air conditioning in the room, but it's easy to forget about AC with the average temperature of 18°C (64°F) in July.

Bottom line- there's keys instead of key cards or high tech mobile check in. There's no original (or any) art on the walls. This is a place to stay if you're looking for affordability and don't mind taking the bus or taxi to get where you're going.
