I arrived early for a 12:30 lunch booked for 3 people in the name of Katrina. A lovely lady said that the booking was for 4 at 1 not 12:30 so I was surprised & thought no worries. I think it was the owner brought a jug of water & 4 cups to my table. I received a sms from my friend saying they are about 15mins away due to traffic. Again no worries & I let the owner know. But at 1pm the other Katrina & her 3 guests arrived and the owner just came to my table telling me when my friend rang as they were waiting at Woronora Boatshed as I was at the wrong venue! I was so sorry & the owner was so nice as I was upset for her & being in the wrong place. As it was so hot she brought out a bottle of water for me & gave directions to the other Boatshed. She was so pleasant and didn’t want any money for my water. So I was so surprised to read the reviews. I’m going to go back to Como Cafe/Boatshed and have breakfast with my husband & little dog shortly/ just as a BIG thank you for their lovely, kind service and so polite.

We took my mother there today for a meal before she goes to hospital tomorrow. WHAT A MISTAKE! We were told by staff we couldn’t have the meals I paid for until the two people, who were trying to find a park there, arrived. They placed us under a freezing fan that says “do not turn off” the food was below standard for the price I paid. It looked like someone had thrown two eggs on a plate with bread and slipped a hasbrown on top and it was cold! The coffee tasted like burnt no name coffee. And they were very very rude to my family. When we complained to them, we were confronted by the blond barrister who was belligerent and rude. She had a servant who was equally rude and when we were being shoved out of the dirty place, the barista and her cronies were using foul language. We never complain when we are out but this was the worst experience at a small, cold and dirty cafe I have ever witnessed. From getting our tables we booked through them wrong, to the disgusting food to the very poor service, I would highly recommend not going to this cafe. A message for the staff there, treat others as you would like to be treated!!

This is a lengthy one… I can see so many of you have had a bad experience here. I am going to contact each bad review as we really need to do something about this horrid place.

Now I have worked in restaurants and bars my whole life… to say I’m shocked is an understatement. These Agro women will 100 percent jump on here and defend themselves as that’s what they do when in denial.

Today my family wanted to enjoy a nice lunch as we have lost a close family member and have all been very down, his favourite place was by the water so we tried to book 14 people. We were told we couldn’t so we booked two tables of 7 respectfully so they could (I assume this is the only reason) manage it in two groups..
We requested an inside table as we didn’t want my grandmother outside in the hot sun. We were told that it wasn’t a problem. On arrival they had split the two tables up. (I’m almost certain this was because they knew we were one group) It’s like these women went out of their way to upset us today, at first we kindly asked to be sat inside (plenty of spots) and some aggressive woman screams “I’m not moving the tables again!” Wow. That was a shock to hear such an aggressive hospitality worker!
It gets better… we were questioned on how many orders we put in (two kids were sharing) and the second table of family members were refused to order by the worker until the last person on the table had arrived (an hour later!)
Now I have read the reviews and I understand that’s how they say they do things there but why? I did not see a problem in ordering our food while waiting for one person? And you guessed it the WHOLE time the staffs behaviour was disgusting. And I mean disgusting, rude even sniggering and chatting as we walked towards them to order.
If you are reading this, why would you as a business owner and reading all this shocking reviews on your services not just pull your head in a little and be kind? I get it. Hospitality can be really challenging and I understand some request and people can be really unpleasant however asking to be sat inside? Asking to order your food while we wait for one person? I realllllly don’t think that deserved the behaviour you displayed today. When asked to speak with an authority above you lot… we were told and I quote “nope we do not care what you have to say, manager isn’t in” and of course at that point (and I think anyone can agree) we lost our cool resulting with you screaming at us to leave and then trying to shove my nan out the door because you didn’t want to hear it. (Yep THEY LAYED HANDS ON MY NAN) of course you didn’t hurt her but how dare you. She didn’t know what you were going to do next…

Above all ladies…. Your location and food would be a Lot better if you didn’t paint all your customers with the Same brush and think everyone is bad. Drop your attitude. We have NEVER had to do something like what unfolded today. It upset us that our kind nature had to reach breaking point.
Perhaps seriously take in your reviews and start treating the people paying for your services a little nicer and stop trying to defend that disgusting behaviour.
