One of the few remaining Italian restaurants that can be found in a town saturated with Mexican and Chinese food choices, Como's thankfully has survived. Although the building has not been updated in what may be decades, the food is consistently good and reasonably priced. Having been a loyal customer for over 40 years, the only significant change I can see is the portions have shrunken down to near minimum. The awesome Italian combination plate used to come heaped upon a large platter that only the hearty eaters could finish. Now, it is a mere shadow of itself served on a small oblong plate that appetizers usually are served. The nice Italian background music has been replaced with a single big screen TV hung on a wall tuned to an all news channel... like a doctor's office waiting room. Not the same romantic atmosphere I recall when I took my dates out for a nice dinner. The large salad remains one of the best reasons to visit Como's, and it is still available for takeout. Another favorite is the garlic bread. Times change, and what few disappointments I have are quickly forgotten when I realize how lucky we are that Como's still exists! I worry when each time I visit, I am the only one there besides the employees. I highly recommend Como's Italian Restaurant and hope you will help keep it alive by visiting it soon. It really is the best Italian in town.
