The food at Compartir was very good, but the rest of the experience was disappointing. We confirmed our reservation a week in advance, as requested. Around midday on the day of our dinner, we received another WhatsApp message telling us to confirm again or our reservation would be cancelled immediately. It read like a personal message from a staff member, yet had no greeting or courtesy. We were on a boat with poor reception and nearly missed it. It was unsettling to feel that a reservation we had already confirmed might be cancelled because we didn’t see a message in time. We had also mentioned when booking that we were celebrating our honeymoon. The reply was simply , and it was never acknowledged during dinner—not even with a “congratulations.” On arrival, we were seated in a separate area with only three tables. The only other occupied table had a baby who cried persistently, making it difficult to enjoy the meal. When we asked to move, we were told there was no space in the courtyard, where the restaurant’s atmosphere really is. The alternatives were an unbearably stuffy indoor area without air conditioning or an empty back room with air conditioning. We initially declined both, but eventually moved to the back room because of the noise. It was quiet, but the harsh lighting and lack of atmosphere made it feel disconnected from the restaurant. To the restaurant’s credit, they did move us to the courtyard for dessert, which made for a much more pleasant end to the evening. The dishes were genuinely tasty, but the service felt mechanical and impersonal, and the seating issues affected most of our meal. Overall, we left disappointed and wouldn’t return or recommend it.
