Wonderful old pub in the middle of beautiful English countryside. Fantastic accommodation and our dinner was superb, all served up by wonderful staff. Highly recommend this place... would definitely return! Service: 5

This is the most lovely quaint country pub with excellent food and service and great outdoor spaces to sit too. A garden to the rear with full canopy cover and tables to the front with umbrellas. Very dog friendly too. Doesn't show on Sunday menu but when we asked we were told that for roast alternative vegan/veggie sausages and gravy were available to have with all the usual veg and Yorkshire pudding. It was delicious and we had one peach cobbler and ice cream to share afterwards which was bloody amazing! What a treat in beautiful village setting and lots of overflow parking available down the road. Can highly recommend this wonderful pub.

After doing a National Trust Pub walk from Dinton, the book took us too The Compasses Inn, a wonderful little pub that overlooked a field full of new born calves. The food we had was delicious from the Cheesy Chips to the Beef Brisket snacks. Highly recommend this very welcoming and friendly pub ̈
