I recently had a disappointing birthday dinner with my 7-year-old daughter at a buffet restaurant. The lack of toilets within the buffet area was inconvenient, forcing us to navigate through a busy area to access the facilities outside. To make matters worse, the manager called me while I was taking my daughter to the toilet, as they were unable to locate me in the restaurant where I had left my belongings. It was concerning that they thought I might have left without paying, despite having my card details on file. Furthermore, the vegetarian options were limited and served cold, falling short of the standards I expect from a reputable establishment like Crown. We got hair on our water glass. Meal type: Dinner

The food at Conservatory is excellent overall, but the desserts are what really stand out for me. The quality is on another level compared with many hotel buffets I’ve visited. These don’t feel like mass-produced desserts that have simply been finished with a little cream before serving. You can really see and taste the level of skill and care that goes into the desserts made here. The variety, presentation and quality are all impressive. If you’re dining at Conservatory, I definitely recommend saving some room and trying a selection of the desserts — they are one of the highlights of the buffet and absolutely worth it.
