Carrot cake at Cooking Bananas
Cooking Bananas is a restaurant in Quito, situated on Los Cipreses street. Known predominantly for its breakfast options, the eatery offers a variety of dining experiences including brunch, lunch, and even catering services. Guests can enjoy their meals with diverse service options such as dine-in, takeaway, delivery, and drive-through. Free street parking makes visiting convenient, and there’s also a friendly atmosphere that welcomes both groups and individuals, including those accompanied by kids or dogs.

Inside, patrons describe the vibe as casual yet trendy and quiet, which is enhanced by attentive table service. Visitors have appreciated the friendly chef noted for his informative explanations about plantains, which seem to be a specialty at this establishment. The restaurant features standard amenities such as toilets, and its offerings include quick bites and diverse desserts. However, keep in mind that visitor feedback hasn't been updated in recent months, leaving potential diners to discover any new developments on their own.

The restaurant is operational from early morning hours, providing breakfast items all week, with varying closing times. It remains open until early afternoon daily, with extended hours into the evening from Monday to Friday. Despite the paucity of listings in popular directories beyond a minimal Google profile, Cooking Bananas seems worth exploring for those who appreciate healthy and filling meals complemented by a warm service.

this is a cool spot, with a very nice and friendly chef. He has very good English and he explained all about plantains / green bananas to me. There are basically sweet (yellowish) plantains and potato like (green) plantains. Maduros is more sweet, but still a bit savoury, i had this and the tigrillo mixto. All the food here is very filling. It's well worth a look. You can have a cool chat with the chef, who is very informative and friendly, and see your food being cooked. I recommend Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $5–10 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: a lot of the menu is vegetarian, plantanes/green bananas and eggs are key ingredients
