Shout out to Tyreke for making my 16yo the best mocktail she's ever had. (Sumac syrup? What?! Amazing!) Came here for dessert and drinks. So good! Get the carrot cake. Period. Fabulous experience at Coquette last night! We tried a bunch of dishes and overall enjoyed them a lot. Highlights included: smoke trout roe atop an onion dip with homemade chips, shrimp chitarra pasta (spicy), and the red snapper. The cocktails we tried were also EXCELLENT. Only notes we had were that the apple salad begged for some lettuce for bulk and mouth feel, and the sweet potato pie dessert lacked a crunch to the crust. Would definitely recommend and go back. Everything was amazing. Tyree was an awesome bartender and made sure we had a great time. Met some folks at the bar and really just had an amazing time talking football and food. Owner was a hell of a nice guy. If you stop reading here, just go! If you appreciate food, you will not be dissatisfied. The whole raw bar experience was exactly what I wanted. Coming from the northeast I was blown away by the oysters. The gulf oysters have a well balanced salinity with some lighter notes we don’t usually get up north, a happy medium of Atlantic salinity and pacific delicacy. The fennel mignonette added a nice tang. Crab Maison was amazing and with a dollop of the cocktail sauce sitting atop the kettle chip from the smoked trout roe, amazing!! If we hadn’t filled ourselves with the raw bar, burrata(amazing), and bread service(short rib marmalade?!?!?) I would have demolished the entire large plates menu. The red snapper was one of the best dishes I’ve had in the last 5 years. Turnip bernaise was rich but the leeks were insane. Couldn’t put my finger on it but there was a subtle umami flavor to the leeks that balanced well with the fish. Crispy skin on the fish provided a complement to the light flaky meat. A glass of Grenache was exactly what the doctor ordered to tie the whole thing together. Just an absolutely killer meal. Would come back to try the short ribs, mushroom and crab plate or any of the other large plates that looked delicious. Cocktails were Rye’d the Lightning and a whiskey/rum cocktail that had me handing the keys over to my date with zero regrets. I wish I could glaze more but I think I’ve already overstayed my welcome on this comment. Get a table a don’t think twice. Thanks to the whole staff for an amazing experience start to finish!!
