My bfriend found this cafe the night before and recommended it to me, so we came back together the next day. Even though they were already closed, the owners warmly welcomed us in again. We had great drinks, desserts, and wonderful conversations. Mama and her husband were incredibly kind, and their hospitality gave us one of our best memories of Kanazawa. My partner and I visited looking for vegan and vegetarian food, which the shop owners knew about and were happy to accommodate for. Whilst there, both Tony, Momo and the other customers were very kind, friendly and created a very pleasant atmosphere, especially as tourists. We were surprised by the wide range of reviews for this place, and was really quite confused. Regardless, Tony and Momo were very sweet, kind, and gave us hugs at the end of our meal. If you’re in Kanazawa and looking for a spot that just hits, you’ve got to check out The Cottage. We stopped in and went all-in on the pizza and pasta, and both were fantastic — exactly what you want after a full day exploring. Fresh, flavorful, and honestly better than you’d expect to find tucked away here. But what really made the night was the atmosphere. Momo took great care of us — super friendly, attentive, and just made everything easy. And then there was the Irish guy (you’ll know exactly who I mean when you meet him ). Absolute legend. Kept us entertained the whole time and brought such a fun energy to the place. It’s one of those spots where the food is great, but the people make it memorable. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in Kanazawa Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
