Counter Hall Cafe, situated on Jln Trengganu in George Town, offers a casual atmosphere perfect for a relaxing meal alone or with family and friends. Despite a limited presence on popular restaurant directories, this cafe is known among local visitors for its unique aroma and satisfying dishes that seem to draw passersby inside. The menu is diverse, spotlighting offerings like the bitter gourd Char Hor Fun, noted for its crisp texture and flavorful noodles.

Patrons can enjoy both dine-in and takeout service options, although this non-air-conditioned spot may not be ideal on particularly hot days. Reviews mention a standout fried noodle counter with excellent frying skills, providing ample Wok Hei. The cafe's other offerings include reasonably good Koay Teow soup, signaling a promising variety worth sampling over time. Open daily from early morning till late at night, Counter Hall Cafe remains a mystery to many, as limited information from its management and the absence of recent reviews suggest a hidden gem waiting to be discovered.

I was passing by at lunchtime when the aroma from the stall drew me in — the fried noodle stall here is surprisingly good! I ordered the bitter gourd Char Hor Fun. The bitter gourd was crisp yet not too bitter, the noodles were full of wok hei, though the gravy was just average. The menu offers many dishes, and with such skill, I believe each one is worth trying. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: RM 1–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

I reached this non-airconditional coffee shop on weekdays at about 10am. Waiting time for take out about 10 minutes. The ambience was quiet and relax Fried koay teow was delicious with wok hei. RM8 per serving with duck egg. Great frying skill. The prawns and cockles were large and fresh. 4 stars Koay teow soup was slightly above average with tasty soup and generous ingredients in light of only RM6 per serving. 3 stars Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: RM 1–20 Food: 3 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1
