I’ve had nyama choma all over Kenya, but Downtown Grill is hands down the best nyama choma I’ve ever had. How they marinate that meat is Magic. It’s so good that I sometimes find myself looking for an excuse to travel to Embu just to eat there. I’ve even asked friends coming to Nairobi to bring me a takeaway order because the craving is that serious. The food is consistently excellent, the service is warm and attentive, the atmosphere is great, whether you’re catching up with friends, enjoying a meal with family, or watching a big match on the screens. If you’re anywhere near Embu and love great food, this place is a must visit. I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough.
