Do not leave without tasting perfectly cooked boiled eggs, pork and tapas. It's a pleasant experience to taste good muffins, chocolate croissants and pudding.
This is not an actual store it's just a pop up at the Palo Alto farmers market on the weekends! I was hoping to run into Emily Mariko while I was here and though I didn't, I did see that they had the rebel within and had to try one of these infamous muffins. Pretty good, but I would recommend it warmed up for sure. The egg was absolute perfection and the salt that it came with was super fun but the cornbread muffin itself was okay for me. They have a ton of other yummy looking baked goods though, I'll try and stop by another time!
If you live in Palo Alto, don't miss out on getting these amazing pastries at the farmer's market! Although they are famous for their Rebel Within, I actually enjoyed a lot of their other pastries a lot more! The havartadelli croissant (ham and cheese) is super flaky and the sauce inside really enhances the flavor! Their seasonal mistress truffle croissant stack and xiaolongbao croissants are amazing with runny egg in the middle - highly recommend warming them up at 350 F for 5 mins. Their morning bun is also super delicious and flaky, not too sweet - again, recommend warming it up. Be sure to place your orders online to skip the line and not miss out on the ones that get sold out quickly!
Craftsman and Wolves is a MUST when visiting the California Ave farmers market. I've had their oat raisin cookie, traditional croissant, and of course the rebel within. The rebel within is my favorite item on their menu. It's a savory muffin with a soft boiled egg inside - such a unique item and so delicious. They'll have more common items (cookies, croissants) readily available at the farmers market but the rebel within sells out so you should order ahead through their website - this way you can also avoid waiting in the long line. They also sell loaves of bread like Japanese Milk Bread so I'm hoping to try one of those next time!
