A MICHELIN star: cuisine of great finesse. Worth the step!
Good standard.

There is serious heart to be had at the centre of the city, thanks to Chef Pepe Moncayo's elegant spot, where novel ingredients are woven into the "concept" menu. What emerges is a sumptuous mash-up of dishes with Spanish and Japanese influence. Chef flexes his creativity on the omakase, and diners won't leave hungry or feeling pinched... More info

We got the Bento Box, and everything was great. Service was excellent. Didn't care too much for the dessert, which was the citrus cheesecake. It was salty. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I had the privilege of dining at Cranes, came in for a happy hour bite and left beyond satisfied. They have a mixed menu, offering something for everyone. I consider myself a vegan foodie - the flavors were well balanced, textures on point and every ingredient was cooked to perfection. The service was on level with NYC which I have found to be rare here in DC even at other fine dining restaurants. I encountered attention to detail and genuinely caring staff. I got the ramen/udon/bok choy while my cousin thoroughly enjoyed the chicken skewers/oysters/ribs. As someone who has dined as far as Europe and Asia as well as across the country from Los Angeles and Miami, Cranes stands out to me as top, and I hope you have the chance to appreciate the heart of what a good, hospitable restaurant experience looks and feels like, in a day and age where simply that, seems to be a dying art.
