CREW BAR, SOI NEW PLAZA, PATTAYA - DRINKS SCAM My lady and I have been drinking in the Crew Bar in Soi New Plaza since we came back to Pattaya 10 days ago. On the whole, it is a great venue with a good karaoke system and a place where a lot of ex-pats meet. I drink Sangsom Coke, and my lady drinks Sangsom Soda, both of which are priced at 40 Baht. On the first few evenings we noticed that with both drinks there was just a vague taste of sangsom. The next day, i went alone and decided to sit around the bar area where the drinks are prepared before being passed to the customers at the many tables in the bar. It wasn't long before I observed what was going on: When a customer requested a spirit, the Thai man went to the optics, but only drained away half of the required measure. I know this not scam of the century, however my advice to all you fellow hardworking travelers is to only drink bottled beers when drinking at this venue.
