I came here with a group of friends who were attending a conference at the Hyatt, just a couple of blocks away. Our waitress, Norah, was great, especially dealing with our large group. I had the two meat platter, with brisket and burnt ends. The brisket was very good, and the burnt ends were great! Definitely the highlight for all of those who had them. They have a nice whiskey selection as well.

Being from SC, where the BBQ of Rodney Scott is legendary, and now living in TX where BBQ is king, this BBQ here is horrible. Only went here because it was located within the hotel and it was too late to walk elsewhere. The pull pork was favorless, the ribs were undercooked and I had to put them in the microwave for a few minutes to finish cooking them, because light blood ran from them. The baked beans were absolutely disgusting. Who puts vinegar in their baked beans, it had an overpowering indescribable taste. I have never had baked beans so awful in my 50yrs of living and I love baked beans. The coleslaw had vinegar and a ton of onions and it was gross. They ruined two of my favorite foods. The macaroni and cheese needed flavor as well, so I added a pinch of salt. The noodles needed to cook a little longer, as well, as they were a tad undercook. The BBQ sauces were not good. I tasted the Caroline sauce, which is definitely not Carolina sauce. That is not how we do it in the Carolinas. The house blend wasn't any better. I wasted $33 on inedible food. My co-worker who also ordered food from this establishment also complained and was disappointed in her food, which consisted of ribs, mac and cheese, and collard greens. However, we did receive good service from the hostess, who took our order, and the bar tender when interacted with while waiting on our food orders. Food: 4/5 (solid, lovely bbq!) Service: 5/5 (staff was amazing and works hard for their customers) Atmosphere: 5/5 (very upbeat, focuses on bbq) As you get closer, you can smell the beautiful aroma of smoked goodies coming from DOC's Commerce Smokehouse. What a lovely restaurant! I love the atmosphere, bbq decor, and how the whole restaurant focused on bbq, down to the bathroom. The service was lovely! We had a nice size group, and they didn't get any of our orders wrong, and they worked very hard. The food was amazing! The food was modern and innovative, which shows their appreciation for bbq. Also, the portion sizes are great, no baby food! All in all, DOC's Commerce Smokehouse is a lovely delicious restaurant! Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Texas Fries, Fried Pickles, Sandwich, Pickles Vegetarian options: Unless you're coming for a salad or sides, DOC's is probably not the best for vegetarian meals.
