Da Bucatino, a traditional Roman trattoria located in the Testaccio neighborhood of Rome, offers authentic and delicious Italian cuisine at moderate prices. The ambiance is lively and welcoming, with friendly and helpful staff who make you feel like family. The interior design is relatively spartan, featuring old photographs from an earlier era, plain tables and chairs, but it adds to the charm and authenticity of the place.
The menu offers a variety of pasta dishes, including the popular Tonarelli Cacio e Pepe, a simple but difficult pasta dish tossed with Cheese and pepper, which is cooked perfectly al dente. The pizza and house red wine are also highly recommended. For meat lovers, the roasted lamb and pork are must-try dishes, while the seafood dishes are freshly cooked and flavorful. Vegetarian options are available as well.
The establishment has both indoor and outdoor seating, and the staff is accommodating to families with children. They also have a lunch and dinner service, with hours from noon to 3 pm and 7 pm to 11 pm, respectively. The location is convenient to where tourists usually stay on Aventino Hill, and the neighboring area has academic groups gathering.
Overall, Da Bucatino is a fine dining spot that provides a genuine Roman dining experience with excellent food and service. It's worth a visit for those who want to taste classic Roman dishes in a casual and welcoming atmosphere.

As the majority of restaurants in Rome have literally no idea what it means to create great food, it was such a pleasant surprise for us to stumble across this restaurant. The food was fantastic, and we can't recommend it highly enough. Truth is, it's not in the best area of Rome, but as it's so good, you don't even care. You'll have to book in advance. This is the only restaurant we saw a queue for. Keep up the good work guys. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €30–40

Hier is een natuurlijke Engelse versie: We had a fantastic dinner at Da Bucatino. We started with the classic prosciutto and melon, which was fresh, simple, and absolutely delicious. For the main course, I had a perfectly cooked meat dish served with crispy roasted potatoes. Great quality ingredients, excellent flavors, and generous portions. The service was warm, friendly, and attentive without ever being intrusive. The atmosphere was lively, welcoming, and exactly what you hope for in a traditional Roman restaurant. If you’re visiting Rome and looking for authentic Italian food with genuine hospitality, Da Bucatino is a place you shouldn’t miss. We will definitely be back. Complimenti to the entire team!
