We were visiting Rome with our family of 12 after a long day of sightseeing and were absolutely starving. Since this restaurant was close to where we were staying, we decided to stop in for dinner. Unfortunately, the experience ended before it even began. We were never greeted. Instead, a man in a black shirt looked at us with an unpleasant expression and repeatedly waved his finger at us in a "no, get out" gesture, the way you might scold a child. We were genuinely shocked by how unwelcome we were made to feel. Without saying anything further, we left and went across the street to Hostaria Isidora, where we were warmly welcomed and had an amazing meal and experience. Based on how we were treated, I would not recommend this restaurant to tourists or to anyone looking for friendly, respectful service. There are much better places nearby that will make you feel welcome. Update: The owner’s response misses the point. The issue was never the lack of a table for 12—we understood that completely. The issue was the rude and dismissive way we were treated. His “end of story” response only reinforces the same dismissive attitude that prompted this review. Tourists skip this place and his ugly attitude. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €1–10 Kid-friendliness: Not friendly at all.

This is one of those authentic family-run restaurants that instantly makes you feel welcome. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, and it almost feels like everyone knows each other. It was recommended to me by a friend who used to work nearby, and I can confidently say it was excellent advice. The food was delicious, the service was attentive. The dining room gives it the feel of a small museum. If you’re planning to visit, I’d definitely recommend making a reservation in advance,it will give you a much better chance of enjoying some truly wonderful Roman cuisine. Had the loveliest dinner at Da Domenico and we loved every meal we ordered. Fennel salad was refreshing, the boiler veal with green sauce was an absolute favorite along with the Rigatoni with sword fish and bottarga and the grilled squid? It was delizioso! So good that we ordered it 2x! The staff are incredibly nice and accommodating. This restaurant is a new favorite and special thanks to Carlo and Marie who recommended this place to us.
