We had a lovely dinner here to farewell one of our staff and the food and service was top notch. Very traditional Italian cooking, lovely staff who were very warm and hospitable, will definitely be back again and highly recommend this one to anyone after an authentic Italian meal. To Da Mario Restaurant Owner,. We have been to your restaurant so many times however this time we were left utterly dissapointed! Your portion sizes were extremely small. The arancini balls were so tiny, the size of a large green olive (which is no comparison to an italian arancini even at an entree size)! Your meat skewers were so thin that we were shocked as there was barely any meat on them. Even as an entree, there should be a decent amount of meat. You do not offer additional bread with olive oil as you have done previously in the past and instead we ordered focaccina pizza bread which was lovely. Even the pasta has become thinner and smaller since the last time we came. The gnocchi was the size of a thumbnail! The quality of your food is no doubt very tasty but your portion sizes were extremely poor! We felt embarrassed for such an important occassion and especially when we paid good money, expecting to recieve excellence in product and service. We felt rushed by your (servizio) service even though we had plenty time to spare. We are italians and suffice to say that you have lost our business as a customer, nor would we recommend anyone to your restaurant again. Perhaps we should have just ordered the Pizza! Sincerely,. Extremely Disappointed! P.S. We appreciate your response however just to let you know we were well aware of your 2hr seating window ensuring we all arrived early given it was a special occasion. After 40mins into the seating window we felt rushed by your staff to do dessert/cake when we still had 1hr and 20min remaining of our seating window and not one of your staff offered any tea or coffee! Ciao NDM,Thank you for your feedback. We’d just like to clarify that our arancini have remained the same size since the day we opened. Regarding our booking times, they are clearly communicated when a reservation is made. We never rush our guests unless another booking is waiting to be seated, which usually only happens on Friday and Saturday evenings. This allows us to seat all guests as close as possible to their reserved time.Thanks also for mentioning the complimentary bread. We actually stopped offering it quite a while ago, but you’ve made a good point, and we’ll certainly discuss bringing it back.We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and wish you all the best.
